Technical Advisory Group (TAG)

The City of Fortuna is seeking community members, professionals, and local stakeholders to serve on the General Plan 2060 Technical Advisory Group (TAG).

WHY IT MATTERS: General Plan 2060 will guide the City’s growth, infrastructure, housing, economic development, environmental stewardship, and quality of life for decades to come. TAG members will help review ideas, identify challenges and opportunities, and provide both technical and community-based insight throughout the planning process. Members will help shape recommendations that guide Fortuna’s future growth, development, and community priorities.

WHO COULD APPLY: The City encourages applications from individuals with experience, interest, or involvement in areas such as:

  • Housing and Development

  • Transportation and Infrastructure

  • Environmental Resources

  • Economic Development

  • Public Safety

  • Agriculture, Education

  • Public Health & Community Services

  • Tribal & Cultural Resources


Community members, business owners, and engaged residents with diverse backgrounds and perspectives are encouraged to participate.

RESIDENCY & REPRESENTATION: Applicants should reside, work, or own businesses within the City of Fortuna or the greater Fortuna area. The City is seeking broad representation from community members, professionals, business stakeholders, and regional partners who are invested in Fortuna’s long-term future.

EXPECTED COMMITMENT: Attendance at approximately 4–6 meetings over 1–2 years.

HOW TO APPLY: Applications are available on the City’s website or click here. Completed applications may be submitted to Katey Schmidt at kschmidt@ci.fortuna.ca.us or in person at City Hall. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance once the review process has been completed.
